1. New Patients: Examine, with FMX. Alginate impressions for custom trays with initial cleaning type being based on initial diagnoses.

2. Continuing Care Patients: Maintenance appointment with alginate impressions for custom trays.

APPOINTMENT #2

1. Initial Whitening appointment:

2. Follow the detailed out-line above starting with consent to instructions for take-home use.

3. Allow 2-3 weeks of take-home usage at night by the patient

APPOINTMENT #3

1. Second Whitening appointment:

2. Repeat the whitening steps as before in appointment #2.

3. Allow 2 weeks of take-home usage at night by the patient.

APPOINTMENT #4

1. Third and final appointment (patients who are not tetracycline or fluordiosis patients).

2. Repeat the whitening steps as before in appointment #2.

3. Take-home usage at night by the patient for maintenance.

4. Schedule patient’s annual maintenance appointment.

Managing patient’s expectations begins by making a good clinical-diagnoses of your patients whitening needs and their present condition.

For example, patients who are older and who have never had teeth whitening before, and patients with gray tones to their teeth ( C and D tones in the Classic Vita Shade Guide), or patients who want more than a “natural” white should be treatment planned for power whitening.
